Hornbook review copy with their name stamped on endpaper. 1st ed. of Dr. Seuss's second book with correct price on dw. Illustrated throughout in black and white with Bartholomew's red hat being the only color (besides the red pictorial endpapers). Bader (p. 304) calls it "folkloric fantasy of a spoofing sort with a happy open end." Perhaps the hardest to find first edition of all of Seuss's books.
